Flexographic Press Assistant
This position is open on 1st and 2nd shift. The Flexographic Press Assistant supports the press operator in the setup, operation, and maintenance of flexographic printing presses. This position ensures that all press materials, inks, and supplies are prepared and available, while maintaining a clean and organized press area. The Press Assistant plays a key role in maintaining efficient production flow, reducing downtime, and ensuring consistent print quality. Key responsibilities include: Assist the press operator with setup, operation, and cleanup of flexographic presses. Prepare substrates, inks, plates, anilox rolls, and other materials as required for each job. Mount printing plates and assist with web threading and press adjustments. Monitor material usage and notify operator or supervisor of low or defective supplies. Perform routine cleaning of press components, ink chambers, and work area to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Assist in performing ink viscosity checks and color matching under direction of the operator. Accurately label, package, and stage finished rolls or sheets according to production requirements. Follow all safety policies, wear required PPE, and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately. Support and participate in 5S, SMED, and continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively with team members, operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. Qualifications: Education and experience: High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in printing, packaging, or manufacturing preferred. Basic understanding of flexographic printing is a plus but not required (training provided).
