Instructional Designer

Emory Healthcare is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Digital Education and Readiness team. A part of Emory's Digital Academy, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, clinicians, and operational leaders to translate complex healthcare topics into clear, effective learning experiences. The Instructional Designer documents, designs, develops, and implements engaging educational content in support of Emory Digital systems, tools, and initiatives. In this role, you will leverage adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and modern technologies to create training materials such as e-learning modules, microvideos, instructor-led courses, job aids, and multimedia content. Responsibilities: Identifies, designs, and develops training for digital systems, tools, and initiatives following the ADDIE process. Participates and leads learning measurement and process improvement initiatives. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Develops complex learning simulations, e-learning, etc. Plans and coordinates skill assessments and training. May facilitate specific onboarding and training activities. Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance. Designs computer-based training as well as materials for instructor led courses. Consults and partners with appropriate subject matter experts to obtain content for online and instructor led courses. Works with the business content experts to convert local content into training material to include printed/online role-based training manuals, job aids, policies and procedures, workflows, and supporting presentations for instructor led training. Maintains a centralized repository of training material and an online library of training material by managing updates/changes from content experts to ensure all material available is up to date. Develops customized training programs for employees, as necessary. Enters data into the Emory learning management system and tracks and monitors training participation and assessments via reporting. experience is a critical skill required for this position. Learning Assessment and Validation -- Creation of summative and formative knowledge-checks and post-class evaluations. Adult Learning Principles -- Developing content in accordance with Instructional System Design best practices, Androgogy, Heutagogy, Media design principles. E-Learning Development -- End-to-end technical writing, digital creation, and evaluation of net-new content including outline, scripting and storyboarding, interactivity, voice-over, etc. Additional Design Tools experience: Other Tech Stack: ServiceNow, OnePlan, Microsoft 365 Suite (esp. Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint, etc.) Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; three years experience in e-learning and blended learning development. Seasoned experience with learning management systems is required. Healthcare experience a plus. Additional Details
