Role Summary We are seeking an experienced corporate and M&A lawyer to join the Practical Law Corporate and M&A team in the United States.

About The Role As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor in Practical Law, you will use your specialist legal knowledge of corporate and M&A law and practice to create and maintain a wide range of content, and to support the development of Thomson Reuters AI‑powered legal solutions. Working in a supportive team of highly experienced colleagues, you will handle a breadth of interesting work.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs, and business objectives.

Review and edit content written by others, whether by colleagues or external expert contributors.

Keep up to date with legal, practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with business objectives.

Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer‑focused Thomson Reuters AI‑powered legal solutions.

Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.

Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice.

Use your specialist legal knowledge to assist the wider Thomson Reuters team, working with product management, sales, marketing, and technology functions where necessary.

About You

Juris Doctor with a current license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

At least eight years’ experience as a corporate and M&A lawyer in a law firm or in‑house.

Extensive experience in:

Corporate law (entity formation and ongoing governance), with in‑depth knowledge of the Delaware General Corporation Law, Delaware Limited Liability Company Act, and Delaware case law.

Mergers and acquisitions (public or private, with familiarity with public company M&A).

Knowledge of the needs and priorities of corporate and M&A lawyers, including experience drafting and negotiating M&A agreements and other corporate forms, and advising boards and senior management.

Strong writing skills, passionate about writing legal practice content accurately, concisely and in plain English.

A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively independently and in teams.

Strong technical skills and ability to use generative AI technologies to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects within the generative AI space and new emerging technologies.

A curious mindset, open to change, and interested in the intersection of AI and legal practice.

Experience using AI tools in legal work.

Candidates selected for a second interview will be asked to take a writing test.

Pay & Benefits Base compensation range for U.S. locations: $116,900 USD – $217,100 USD.
