We are seeking a meticulous and experienced SolidWorks Draftsperson with a strong background in pump and/or hydraulic system design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings to support engineering and manufacturing teams. This role requires technical expertise in fluid systems and mechanical components, as well as proficiency in SolidWorks and related design tools.

Essential Job Functions

Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for pumps, hydraulic systems, and associated components using SolidWorks software.

Create detailed assemblies, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and fabrication drawings for manufacturing.

Collaborate with engineers to interpret design requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Perform design modifications and updates based on feedback from engineering and production teams.

Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

Support prototype development and testing by providing accurate design data. Assist in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Convert existing CAD drawings to Solid Works renditions.

Qualifications & Skills

3-5 years of drafting experience required.

Strong background in pump design, hydraulics, or fluid power systems.

Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Proficient in Solid Works, 3D modeling software.

Reuse of prototype plans for lot specific orders to match home contract/specifications.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

Familiarity with GD&T standards and ASME drawing practices.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, IBM networks, and PDM systems for document control.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Preferred Experience

Exposure to industrial pumps, hydraulic circuits, and fluid handling equipment.

Thorough understanding of mechanical design software, specifically AutoCAD and Inventor. SolidWorks a plus.

Understanding of machining, welding, and fabrication processes.

Experience with CFD or FEA tools for design validation (a plus).

Education

A.A.S. Associates in Applied Science Technology degree with AutoCAD and Inventor Certification.

SolidWorks certification is highly desirable.

Minimum of 5+ years’ working experience in the Rotating Equipment field with thorough understanding of centrifugal pump parts, assemblies, as well as their related auxiliaries (i.e.: motors, drives, lube systems, etc.)
