Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

RemX is seeking a Mechanical Design Manager to oversee the mechanical design team developing fabrication-level designs for engineered conveying systems, rotating equipment, and automated industrial machinery. This role is both hands‑on and leadership focused, driving design standards, supporting the team, and contributing to detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings when needed. The ideal candidate brings strong SolidWorks ability, extensive experience with mechanical assemblies and fabrication practices, and the leadership skills to guide, mentor, and elevate a technical design group while maintaining ownership of the department’s technical direction.

Qualifications

7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience, including weldments, assemblies, and fabrication-ready drawing packages; SolidWorks proficiency required (CSWE a plus)

Lead a mechanical design team supporting engineered systems, rotating equipment, conveying machinery, and industrial mechanical assemblies

Strong background in mechanical design, fabrication standards, power transmission components, and drafting practices

Position Responsibilities

Lead and develop the mechanical design team while setting technical direction and ensuring accurate, fabrication‑ready designs

Contribute to complex 3D models, assemblies, and SolidWorks drawings, and review all design work for proper form, fit, function, and manufacturability

Design and review assemblies involving motors, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, chain drives, weldments, and structural components, applying proper drafting standards and fabrication practices

Establish and refine design standards, templates, and processes to improve consistency and reduce rework

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, detailing, and project teams to resolve design issues, maintain schedules, and support project execution

Manage multiple design projects and provide occasional field support for measurements or installation troubleshooting
