Young Projects, an award-winning AD100 architecture and interior design firm in Brooklyn, seeks a Junior Interior Designer with 1–4 years of experience to assist with primarily high-end residential and hospitality projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, brings a strong design sensibility, works collaboratively, and can support all project phases—from concept design through procurement and installation.
Key Qualifications
Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in person in a fast-paced (but fun) studio
Collaborative and kind nature. Position reports to and assists the Interior Design Lead
Effective at multitasking and personal time management
Highly organized and great with follow-through
Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
An eagerness to learn across all project aspects
Basic understanding of FF&E selection/specification and technical design (CDs, details, plans, elevations)
Responsibilities
Assist in client presentation preparation, including sourcing (furniture, fabrics, art, and finishes), presentation design (InDesign and Photoshop), and CAD space planning
Retrieve samples from dealers/showrooms
Compile specification booklets
Organize, update, and manage the materials library
Assist in all phases of procurement, including proforma/CFA requests, vendor follow-ups, budget updates, and installation
Coordinate meeting notes, project status updates, and deliverables
Track orders and delivery schedules
Maintain vendor and sourcing relationships and coordinate with dealers/manufacturers
Requirements
1–4 years of comparable experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Excel, and Word
Beneficial but not mandatory:
Proficiency in Rhino/Enscape for representational purposes
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
