Position Overview HDR is looking for a Senior Site Civil 3D Designer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Group in our St. Louis Park, MN office. This individual will be expected to:

Responsibilities

Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis.

Support the design and production of site civil construction documents related to Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial Clients.

Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D including site survey, site layout, grading, drainage, storm water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.

Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.

Manage the setup and development of design projects in Civil 3D to ensure that proper file and layer management is maintained; this will involve working closely with other site civil staff to mentor and train.

Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to ensure that the files and plans adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.

Develop Civil 3D designs for BIM execution plans. Coordinate with BIM discipline leads to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of site civil design concepts including earthwork, surfaces, site grading, pipe networks, etc.

Manage multiple tasks and/or project deadlines concurrently, working in a fast- paced team environment with strong coordination and collaboration.

Maintain an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee- owned culture.

Mentor and develop the Digital Design staff within their discipline.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Autodesk Civil 3D certification

Navisworks, MicroStation and OpenRoads experience are welcome

Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience

A minimum of 10 years related industry experience

Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.

Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools

Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools

Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts

Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential

Leadership and mentoring skillsets required

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Minnesota: $70,193 – $100,275
