Senior Site Civil 3D Designer – HDR
Location:
St. Louis Park, MN (primary); other locations: Madison, WI & Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi‑discipline design team daily.
Support the design and production of site civil construction documents for Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial clients.
Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D including site survey, site layout, grading, drainage, storm‑water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.
Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
Manage setup and development of design projects in Civil 3D, ensuring proper file and layer management; mentor and train other site civil staff.
Support development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.
Develop Civil 3D designs for BIM execution plans and coordinate with BIM discipline leads for compliance.
Demonstrate strong understanding of site civil design concepts including earthwork, surfaces, site grading, pipe networks, etc.
Manage multiple tasks and project deadlines concurrently, working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Maintain an active participant attitude of our employee‑owned culture.
Mentor and develop Digital Design staff within the discipline.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Autodesk Civil 3D certification.
Experience with Navisworks, MicroStation and OpenRoads (welcome).
Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum 10 years related industry experience.
Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
Advanced skillset in 3D coordination tools.
Competency with Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
Knowledge of industry standards, practices discipline codes and specifications.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits.
Leadership and mentoring skillsets required.
Compensation and Benefits Expected compensation range (Minnesota): $70,193 – $100,275, depending on skills, experience, education and location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
