The successful candidate will be considered for appointment to the Andrew W. Mellon Professorship in the Humanities, at the rank of Full Professor, with tenure. The Andrew W. Mellon Professorship in the Humanities was established in 1973 by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation as a way to help strengthen the influence of the humanities in educational programs.

The starting salary for this position will be $150,000 to $220,000.

Since its founding in 1839, Boston University has embraced a mission of openness and access, becoming one of the first universities in the nation to welcome all students of ability regardless of race, gender, or creed.
