Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. An opportunity is available for a dedicated Visually Impaired Teacher to support K-12 students in a dynamic school setting located in Chicago, IL. This contract position involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they have access to a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments Deliver direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology as appropriate Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create accessible learning environments Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs Provide training and resources to staff on adaptive techniques and tools for visually impaired students Maintain detailed records of student performance and intervention strategies Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights into students visual needs and accommodations Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments Experience working within K-12 educational settings Strong understanding of assistive technology and adaptive instructional methods Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse learning needs effectively Location: Chicago, Illinois Benefits: Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students educational outcomes Experience working in an inclusive, supportive school environment Contract position offering professional growth and specialized skill development Interested candidates who are passionate about enhancing educational access for visually impaired students are encouraged to apply for this rewarding role.
