Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A K-12 educational institution in Gulfport, MS is seeking a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and learning environments to meet diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments. Provide direct instruction and support in academic subjects and daily living skills. Utilize appropriate assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records in compliance with educational regulations and guidelines. Qualifications: Teaching certification in special education with a focus on visual impairment or related area. Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments. Strong knowledge of IEP development and specialized instructional techniques. Proficiency in assistive technology and adaptive equipment for visually impaired learners. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
