Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This position seeks a qualified Visually Impaired Teacher to support K-12 students in a school setting in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a contract role focused on providing specialized instruction and assistance to students with visual impairments to help them achieve their academic and developmental goals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively applied Assess student needs and progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary Foster independence and confidence among visually impaired students through skill building and adaptive techniques Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or equivalent credential Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments Strong knowledge of Braille literacy, assistive technologies, and orientation and mobility strategies Ability to collaborate with education teams to develop and implement appropriate strategies Excellent communication and organizational skills Location: Oklahoma City, OK This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact on the education and lives of students with visual impairments.
