Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A K-12 school in Providence, RI, is seeking a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher for a contract position. This role involves providing specialized educational support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive tailored instruction to meet their unique learning needs. Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments Adapting curriculum materials using assistive technology and other resources Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success Conducting assessments and monitoring student progress related to visual impairment services Providing direct instruction in orientation and mobility, braille, and other specialized skills as needed Desired Qualifications: Certified or licensed as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) or equivalent Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive instructional strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to maintain accurate records and reports related to student services Location: Providence, Rhode Island This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students educational experiences by supporting their accessibility and learning needs.
