A K-12 educational facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dedicated Visually Impaired Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments. This contract position involves creating individualized learning plans, adapting materials, and collaborating with teachers and specialists to ensure students achieve their full academic potential. Key Responsibilities: Assess students needs and develop tailored instructional strategies for visually impaired learners. Adapt educational materials and use assistive technology to facilitate student learning. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student success. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Provide guidance on mobility and orientation skills as needed. Qualifications/Experience: Certification or licensure to teach visually impaired students. Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting. Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessibility tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) or 504 plans.
