Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students unique needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments Provide direct instruction in orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and braille literacy Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Advocate for the needs of visually impaired students within the school community Qualifications and Desired Experience: Certification or licensure in visual impairment education Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired or blind Knowledge of braille, assistive technologies, and orientation and mobility strategies Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt teaching approaches to diverse learner needs Location: Phillipsburg, Kansas This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute specialized expertise in a supportive educational environment, facilitating student growth and independence.
