A K-12 school in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a dedicated educator specializing in visual impairment to support students with unique learning needs. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of visually impaired students, providing tailored instruction and resources that empower their academic and personal growth. Responsibilities: Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods as needed Provide training and resources on visual impairment strategies to educators and support personnel Facilitate the use of assistive technology and tools to enhance learning accessibility Advocate for student needs within the school environment Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired Strong knowledge of Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to develop personalized instructional materials and accommodations Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Location:The position is located in Sugar Land, Texas, within a dynamic K-12 school setting.
