Position Interior Designer – Atlanta, Georgia

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as prime contact between the firm and clients, consultants, and public agencies.

Participate in project design, prepare and conduct client interviews, and consolidate information into a Program Document outlining square footage and personnel requirements.

Initiate preparation of Equipment List gathering electrical, plumbing, and special HVAC requirements from client.

Prepare schematics, including Block & Stacking Plans.

Conduct space planning.

Create complete set of construction documents.

Take general responsibility for technical implementation of design concepts during construction documents, specifications, building, and construction administration.

Ensure code compliance related to ADA and Life Safety.

Prepare reports and specifications.

Coordinate all project discipline drawings.

Communicate with outside consultants.

Use computer-aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings and perform CADD operations.

Prepare presentation boards.

Apply knowledge of construction techniques and constructability for interiors, including flooring, partitions, ceilings, and finish materials.

Assist senior staff with construction site visits, monitor progress, review shop drawings, attend meetings, review RFIs, prepare ASIs and PRs, and prepare status reports per contract documents.

Review outgoing submittals and maintain quality standards per BRPH System Manuals.

Review project schedule and budget worksheets.

Assist senior staff with furniture bid packages when requested.

Maintain and monitor project profitability.

Coordinate manpower allocations for assigned projects.

Attend weekly scheduling meetings with the department.

Encourage continuing education efforts for staff and personnel professional growth.

Promote mentoring among Interior Design staff, supporting NCIDQ certification.

Maintain administrative and technical documents for Interior Design project management.

Assist senior staff with billing invoice clarifications.

Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in trade organizations.

Marketing duties: participate in marketing efforts and client presentations when requested, maintain client relationships, and develop new revenues through continuing services; remain active in professional trade organizations.

Contract duties: possess general knowledge of interior design/architectural contracts, identify scope modifications, and pursue additional services when appropriate.

Computer Software Skills

Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

Must gain experience in Adobe Photoshop.

Education and Experience

Four‑year degree in Interior Design from a CIDA‑accredited college or university.

Minimum four years professional experience in Interior Design or Architecture.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
