We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Designer to support the design and development of complex low voltage systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in fire alarm and low voltage systems and excels in producing accurate, code-compliant designs from concept through construction. Lead the design and development of low voltage systems including: Fire Alarm Systems Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems (ERRCS) Area of Refuge / Two-Way Communication Systems Security and Intrusion Detection Systems CCTV Surveillance Systems Access Control Systems Prepare and review detailed design drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, estimators, clients, and AHJs to ensure designs meet applicable codes and project requirements. Interpret and apply industry codes such as NFPA, NEC, and CBC to system designs. Participate in project coordination meetings and support pre-construction efforts. Support pre-construction coordination and respond to RFIs. Provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafters as needed. Contribute to value engineering efforts and cost-effective design solutions. Maintain internal quality standards and ensure thorough documentation. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in low voltage system design (Fire Alarm, Security, and Structured Cabling systems strongly preferred) Strong working knowledge of applicable codes: NFPA, NEC, CBC, etc. Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other industry-related design tools NICET certification (preferred but not required) Excellent attention to detail and documentation standards Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage priorities and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Walking and standing occasionally (0-3 hours daily) Frequent telephone usage; able to communicate clearly Ability to think and process information quickly, clearly and accurately Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a busy office setting with moderate noise levels Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs Ability to work in a construction office environment with site plans and schedules coordination What We Offer
