Summary Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Designer II to support the design and development of complex low voltage systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in fire alarm and low voltage systems and excels in producing accurate, code-compliant designs from concept through construction. This role requires proactive coordination with cross-functional teams and a strong understanding of industry codes and best practices.

Responsibilities

Design and develop low voltage systems, including Fire alarm, ERRCs, 2-Way, Security, CCTV, and Access Control

Conduct site surveys to assess system requirements

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure low voltage systems are integrated into building designs

Create detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software, such as AutoCAD

Perform calculations to determine system requirements

Stay up to date with advancements in industry technology and best practices

Qualifications

5-8 Years Experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

NICET II (FA Designer)

Factory Certification (101 Courses)

Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, for system design and drafting

Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local building codes

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings

Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD

Excellent problem-solving skills, technical and analytical skills

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

High School Diploma or equivalent, degree preferred

Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements

Pass a employment background check

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Walking — Occasionally (0-3 hours/daily)

Standing — Occasionally (0-3 hours/daily)

Frequent usage, must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with others.

Ability to think and process information quickly, clearly and accurately.

Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a busy office setting with moderate noise levels.

Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

Ability to work in a construction office environment where site plans and schedules may require coordination with sales team and field personnel.

Competitive compensation: $30.00 – $40.00 Per Hour (DOE)
