The Opportunity
Homecare Homebase is seeking a Home Health and Hospice Authorization Specialist to oversee the complete and accurate HCHB authorization process and case management.
Job Description As a Home Health and Hospice Authorization Specialist, you will ensure accurate obtainment of authorization and recertification requests for our customers, enabling them to focus on delivering high‑quality patient care. You will manage insurance authorization, benefit verification, and client communication within our designated software system.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight of the insurance authorization process regarding case management and patient pathways, including timely and complete processing of eligibility and benefit verification.
Perform routine review of appropriate workflows and redirect workflows as needed.
Build effective communication bridges with HCHB RCS clients at both central and branch agency levels to assist or explain exceptions.
Coordinate communication with clients, contracting and clinical departments on payer related issues.
Demonstrate the ability to solve problems independently and at an optimal level.
Follow written and verbal communications.

Highly organized individuals with strong attention to detail.
Experience with Availity, MyNexus, Zirmed, Ability, and other common clearinghouses.
Analytical thinkers with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team players passionate about their work and committed to a positive, collaborative environment.
1+ year experience directly completing insurance verifications and request authorizations in the home health and hospice space.
Availability to work any shift between 7 am and 7 pm, including a rotating Saturday schedule.
Education requirement: high school diploma.
