Position Summary This position will support the K–12 and Government Market Sectors by developing clear, inclusive, and engaging communications that inform and build trust. The role supports clients and public stakeholders in creating content and outreach strategies that support programs, initiatives, and public engagement efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Content Creation and Management
Develop high-quality content for press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media posts, email campaigns, and internal memos.
Draft speeches, talking points, and presentations for executives and other leaders.
Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
Assist in growing KA's project communication services, pre and post funding.
Create flyers and social media material for campaigns.
Promote and conduct community involvement activities related to project needs and campaigns.
Assist in proposal and interview process and strategy; participate in office business development meetings.
Build post-referendum communications about KA project success for clients.
Engage with local government entities, community organizations, and stakeholder task‑forces to strengthen partnerships and support long‑term community goals; attend trade shows, conferences, and associated events to educate potential clients.
Develop relationships with architects/engineers and other industry players.
Work in collaboration with the K‑12 Education and Government sector leadership to align with KA’s business development and communication strategies.
Internal Communications
Develop strategies to engage employees with organizational news, updates, and values.
Support internal events, workshops, and training sessions with communication materials.
Social Media and Digital Engagement
Write and distribute press releases; monitor media coverage and create media kits.
Plan, develop, and execute social media campaigns to drive engagement and referendum awareness.
Monitor social media platforms for brand mentions, trends, and opportunities to engage.
Analyze digital communication metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach and engagement.
Event Planning and Promotion
Assist in planning, promoting, and executing events such as vendor or trade shows, press conferences, board meetings.
Develop promotional materials and manage media coverage of events.
Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless event execution.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Associate’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or equivalent.
1+ years experience in a communications role or equivalent.
Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office 365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and uphold company values and demand high standards of conduct.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent.
Professional certifications in communications, PR, or digital marketing (e.g., APR, CMP) are a plus.

Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
Travel 25%.

Pay Range $24.00 – $35.00 hourly, plus discretionary incentive program. Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
