What you’ll do The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for designing and delivering advanced data visualization solutions that drive business insights and decision-making across H&R Block. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to develop intuitive dashboards, optimize data pipelines, and translate complex datasets into actionable intelligence.
Day to day you’ll
Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI to support strategic initiatives across media and customer marketing departments
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions
Optimize dashboard performance and ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity
Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations using SQL and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, Azure)
Solve technical issues independently and optimize data processes for efficiency
Document technical specifications, data lineage, and dashboard functionality
Provide training and support to end users on BI tools and best practices
Support ad hoc analysis requests and contribute to a data-informed culture across the marketing organization
Create compelling data stories that translate complex datasets into actionable business insights
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field
Work Experience
5+ years of experience in data visualization and analytics, including hands‑on development with Tableau and/or Power BI
Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets
Experience going beyond number‑crunching, reports, and dashboard creation – ability to understand the business impact of the data and make recommendations based on your findings
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, GCP) and tools like dbt, GitHub, or Bitbucket
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
Experience using digital measurement and reporting tools like Google DCM, Google Analytics, Adobe, etc.
Understanding of MarTech and AdTech competitive landscape
Understanding of marketing measurement solutions (e.g., Media Mix Models, Fractional Attribution)
It would be even better if you also had
Experience in retail or financial services analytics
Familiarity with statistical modeling, forecasting, and experimentation
Proven project management ability for delivering insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Understanding of marketing and ecommerce principles, and cross‑channel analytic
