Lead Retail Store Designer Job Description:
This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. Overall Purpose: Design and implement visually compelling and functional retail store layouts that enhance customer experience and align with brand guidelines.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Store Layout Design and Visual Merchandising: Create innovative and functional store layouts that optimize space utilization and enhance the customer shopping experience, while designing and implementing visual merchandising strategies that align with brand guidelines and effectively showcase products.
Brand Alignment and Collaboration: Ensure all store designs are consistent with the brand’s visual identity and guidelines and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and store management to ensure cohesive and practical store designs.
Design Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed floor plans, 3D models, and renderings of store layouts, and manage design projects from concept to completion, adhering to timelines and budgets.
Site Visits and Vendor Coordination: Conduct site visits to assess space requirements and gather necessary measurements and data, and coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure the implementation of design plans according to specifications.
Trend Analysis and Compliance: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in retail design to continually enhance store layouts and customer experience, ensuring all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
Prototype Floor Plan Development: Design and lead the creation of innovative prototype floor plans that reflect brand strategy, customer traffic patterns, and sales objectives.
Floor Plan Auditing: Conduct regular audits of floor plans across clusters to ensure compliance with visual standards and to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Store Clustering: Analyze store profiles and segment stores into categories (clusters) to tailor floor plans that address unique market needs and inventory capacities.
SKU Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze SKU-level sales data by fixture and wall, identifying trends and actionable insights to optimize product placement and assortment.
Job Contribution: An experienced professional, recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentors less experienced staff, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.
Supervisor: No
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
Salary Range: $106,100.00 - $178,200.00
