Marketing Coordinator – Goodman Theatre, Chicago, IL

Compensation: $42,000 annually; Full‑time, Non‑Exempt; Reports to Director of Audience Development; Location: 170 N Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid Eligible).

Position Summary The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in daily operations of the Marketing department, supporting campaigns and communications across digital, print, and on‑site channels.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with marketing and graphic design teams to ensure timely delivery of all advertisements and marketing materials, including managing the turnover of building posters and banners.

Manage digital design requests to keep website‑related assets on schedule.

Maintain and update internal marketing and social calendars to streamline communication with external teams for email marketing and social media schedules.

Assist with updates throughout the WordPress content management system and perform daily/weekly site QA and troubleshooting.

Maintain SEO for The Goodmans website to optimize search visibility.

Co‑manage, write, and maintain weekly LinkedIn updates; aid in copywriting, editing, publishing content and creating alt text for images across social platforms.

Assist the Director of Digital Strategy with monthly reports to track website performance and maintain the Google Grants account for promotional advertisement.

Work with the Marketing Manager to oversee marketing plans and execution for special events such as rentals and summer programming.

Track expenses within the marketing budget and assist with annual budget reconciliation alongside the Director of Marketing and CMO.

Assist the Director of Audience Development with outreach and execution of initiatives to support accessibility and enhanced services; write play summaries for accessibility and student guides.

Lead recruitment of College Ambassadors and promote College Nights to university students.

Compile data related to traditional and digital marketing efforts to analyze ROI, trends, and more.

Ensure The Goodmans listings are updated on partner sites such as Choose Chicago and local Chambers of Commerce.

Fulfill partner organization requests for mutual marketing support, including email swaps and reciprocal social media posts.

Provide additional support as needed, including assistance with staffing and executing events.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of professional marketing or administrative experience.

Excellent writing, communication, and project‑management skills.

Familiarity with Tessitura (or other CRM database) preferred.

Facility with Excel required.

Self‑starter capable of working in a fast‑moving environment.

Creative, flexible, open‑minded, and enjoys teamwork and experimentation.

Occasional evenings and weekends as needed to staff and execute events.
