We are seeking a
Cabinet & Closet Engineer
with strong expertise in
Mozaik software , CNC manufacturing, and construction-ready design. This role bridges
design intent and production reality , ensuring that custom cabinets and closets are
engineered correctly, machined efficiently, and installed flawlessly .
This is
not a sales designer role . The ideal candidate thinks like a manufacturer, understands tolerances, and builds systems that scale.
Responsibilities Engineering & Production
Engineer
frameless and face-frame cabinetry
and
custom closet systems
using Mozaik
Translate design concepts into
CNC-ready production files
Develop and maintain
Mozaik libraries , assemblies, and parametric components
Engineer:
Door and drawer overlays
Reveal and clearance logic
Toe kicks, fillers, scribes, and end panels
Adjustable and fixed shelving systems
Optimize parts for:
CNC nesting efficiency
Material yield
Machining time reduction
CNC & Manufacturing Integration
Prepare and validate files for
CNC router
(Biesse)
Map and maintain:
Hinge boring patterns
Drawer slide drilling
Shelf pin systems
Cam/dowel/confirmat joinery
Troubleshoot CNC issues related to:
Toolpaths
Drilling depth
Hardware misalignment
Assembly errors
Hardware & Materials Expertise
Engineer cabinets and closets using industry hardware such as:
Blum
Salice
Grass
Understand material behavior:
Plywood vs MDF vs particle board
Veneer orientation
Thermofoil, melamine, and laminate
Ensure designs meet
structural, aesthetic, and installation standards
Quality Control & Standards
Review jobs for manufacturability before release
Enforce internal engineering standards and tolerances
Reduce shop and install errors through better design logic
Document engineering best practices and workflows
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with:
Designers
CNC operators
Install teams
Operations and project management
Provide technical guidance to designers when needed
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications 3+ years experience engineering cabinets or closets for CNC production
Advanced proficiency in
Mozaik software
Strong understanding of:
CNC machining processes
Cabinet construction methods
Hardware integration
Ability to read and produce:
Shop drawings
Cut lists
Assembly documentation
High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Biesse CNC routers
Familiarity with post-processors and machine parameters
Experience creating custom Mozaik libraries and assemblies
Knowledge of closet-specific systems and accessories
Background in manufacturing engineering or millwork
