We are a hybrid company with a focus on in‑person collaboration when necessary. Employees are expected to be available to work from one of our office hubs at least two days per week, or eight days per month. Our US hub locations include: Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area. For roles based in Europe, our hubs are London, UK and Amsterdam, NL. What You’ll Do
Develop and execute BetterUp’s executive communications and thought leadership strategy and messaging — spanning speeches, public commentary, and social storytelling.
Ghostwrite everything from keynote scripts and long‑form features to punchy social posts and short‑form video scripts.
Interview executives and experts to surface authentic stories and original insights and develop articles and content that build trust with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Chief People Officers (CPOs), Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs).
Partner with Executives, Brand and Labs to turn data, research, and behavioral science into engaging, accessible narratives.
Collaborate on multimedia storytelling—written, podcasts, video, and live event segments—to bring executive ideas to life.
Use GenAI tools to enhance creativity, move faster, personalize content, and strengthen executive voice without sacrificing authenticity or credibility. Maintain a human writer’s voice.
Track engagement, reach, and influence across executive content to measure impact and refine strategy.
If you have some or all of the following, please apply:
10+ years in executive communications, journalism, thought leadership, or strategic storytelling.
Proven experience as a ghostwriter and speechwriter for senior leaders.
A strong background in interviewing and narrative development; you know how to get great stories out of people.
A deep understanding of enterprise buyer psychology, especially CHROs and CEOs.
Experience writing for multiple formats—speeches, op‑eds, long‑form content, video, event experiences, and social.
Comfort working with data‑driven or research‑based material; ideally familiar with organizational or behavioral psychology.
A marketing mindset—you understand audience, timing, and channel, and can write for various mediums and occasions.
An eye for multimedia and social media storytelling—you can think in visuals and voice, not just text.
Ability to coach executive leaders on storytelling and delivery for stage, screen, and social would be great.
