Position Summary The
Communications Consultant – Account Manager
serves as the primary communications strategist, advisor, and coordinator for advertising, brand, and creative communications initiatives. This role manages the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications projects, ensuring message and brand consistency while aligning with corporate strategies and measurable business goals.
This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role, working closely with copywriters, designers, digital teams, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the
Account Manager and communications strategist
for assigned clients and initiatives
Manage the
development, execution, and evaluation of communications plans
aligned to business objectives
Act as the
primary point of contact
for client communications projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget
Build and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing engagement and strategic counsel
Collaborate closely with
Creative Services teams
(copywriters, designers) to deliver high-quality, on-strategy creative across channels
Ensure consistency, brand alignment, and adherence to defined workflows
Partner with
External Digital Communications Channels
to enhance online marketing efforts and ensure process compliance
Support integrated, multi-channel campaigns including
digital, print, video, social, radio, and web
Participate in
storm/crisis communications support
as a secondary Account Manager (after-hours for 1–2 months annually)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English , or related field
8+ years of Account Management experience
Experience in
advertising, branding, and marketing communications
Strong
project management and analytical skills
Proven ability to manage
integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a
highly matrixed organization
Comfortable advising clients and providing strategic communications counsel
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple stakeholders
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office
(Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
Experience with
work management systems
(e.g., Workamajig)
Preferred Qualifications
Agency or
in-house agency-style experience
(strongly preferred)
Previous
energy or utility industry experience
Experience with
Kanban principles
Demonstrated ability to tie communications strategy to
measurable business results
