Overview
The St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund (CSF) is seeking an engaging, collaborative, and driven communication and community engagement professional to join our team. The Communication and Community Engagement Specialist will report to the Communication Director and will provide outreach, educating the public on the organization and program goals and collaborating with external agencies to deliver services. As a member of the communications team, they will also provide support developing internal and external messaging to further our mission and expand our brand.
This position plays an important role in expanding CSF’s brand and increasing knowledge on mental and behavioral health and related resources in the community. This position will also connect with underserved communities in St. Louis County, explore collaborations with existing partners and identify opportunities to develop new partnerships.
The work schedule will consist of primarily day hours Monday - Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. In an effort to provide for the best possible work-life balance, the County offers a generous benefit package which includes affordable health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 4 weeks of Paid Time Off the first year, 11 paid holidays, deferred benefit retirement plan, paid life insurance as well as short and long term disability. St. Louis County Government is a qualified agency for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program managed by the Federal Government.
Responsibilities
Develop an outreach strategy to inform public of available services and highlight the Find-A-Service tool.
Develop and facilitate CSF’s Wellness in the Community campaign, educating County residents on mental health and CSFs Find-A-Service Tool.
Coordinate and facilitate Handle With Care Program.
Establish and maintain relationships with external agencies and community organizations to inform, educate, and familiarize residents with resources available to kids and their families in St. Louis County.
Develop, promote, and implement events and activities.
Identify underserved County residents and communities and develop relationships to connect them to services.
Serve as CSF’s brand ambassador to the community.
Organize and facilitate CSF’s Outreach Council.
Organize John M. Anderson Excellence In the Field of Mental Health and Community Mental Health Provider Award and work with previous recipients to develop educational and outreach campaigns.
Maintain and develop content for CSF’s newsletter.
Assist in the development and creation of blog content to help support the organization’s efforts to become a leader in children’s behavioral health in the region.
Assist in the execution of the strategic communications plan and educational and outreach campaigns.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A current, valid driver's license is also required.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational skills; experience in project management systems a plus.
Strong collaboration skills; willingness and ability to work cross-departmentally to achieve goals and objectives.
Strong writing and grammar skills.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations and community meetings.
Willingness to work occasional weekends/evenings to attend community meetings.
Selection and Appointment Process The selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant, including recentness and appropriateness of education and experience, supplemental questions, employment references, and any other relevant information. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview; a qualifying interview score of 70 or more is required for appointment. After interviews, top candidates will be instructed to complete a Conviction Questionnaire within 3 days. All candidates offered a merit position must undergo a urinalysis drug screening at a reputable laboratory, cost covered by the County.
