We’re looking for someone with a creative vision. The ideal candidate will know how to win the big story, own breaking news and display important weather information.

The news producer is responsible for the creation of newscasts with fresh content, strong story flow and compelling supporting graphics.

Responsibilities

Select, research, and write content for live newscasts

Broadcast assigned newscasts, breaking news, and weather events

Motivate your team to execute your vision, act with urgency and immediacy, ensure story selection and placement fits newsroom standards for vision and growth

Understand our DMA, key target audiences and where they live

Produce engaging and error‑free work

Incorporate live and user‑generated content to the newscast, sending push alerts to extend the reach of our work

Write for digital

Qualifications / Requirements

Great communication skills

Comfortable, confident, and competent news judgment

A college degree in journalism, broadcasting or communication preferred

College degree in journalism or communications preferred
