Job Description The Field Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing a unified and consistent brand experience in the region, supporting the run specialty channel and key accounts, and acting as the hub for sales agencies, partners, and ambassadors. This role elevates the brand at distribution points, provides insight on industry trends, competitor benchmarking, and product feedback.
Responsible for supporting sell‑through and driving consumer demand at multiple touchpoints, activating demos, trials, and events with run specialty accounts and target consumer run groups. The Field Marketing Specialist supports the growth of the Salomon business in Los Angeles and extends as directed. This is a full‑time position with 85% travel in region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES In‑Store Experience/ Shopper Marketing
Work closely with the territory sales agency to understand the run specialty & priority outdoor specialty accounts to build seasonal sell‑through support plans
Conduct in‑store and/or online training sessions with identified accounts to develop product experts and brand champions
Deliver presentations that will elevate staff engagement and create loyal in‑store advocates for our products, programs, and consumer initiatives
Coordinate and execute sell‑through contests with identified accounts in collaboration with territory sales agency with both shop pros and consumers
Execute point‑of‑purchase displays, refresh brand assets, and support merchandising guidelines in store as outlined by the Shopper Marketing team and in coordination with territory sales agency
Support new product launches by coordinating consumer events with run specialty store marketing teams
Dedicate significant weekly time to retail hours at top priority accounts
Support territory sales agency with run specialty sell‑in appointments as needed
This role will be the marketing point of contact for our exciting Salomon store expansion in the LA market. This includes store staff training, community events and relationship building
Community Marketing
Plan and execute consumer events that focus on new product demos with new‑to‑brand consumers and retail agnostic to drive the brand demand
Build brand affinity and community engagement through other activations (i.e. Salomon TV screenings, How to Trail Run workshops, run clubs, hike clubs, product launches)
Support national & sponsored events in territory as outlined by the Brand Team
Collaborate with sales agencies at agreed upon consumer trial events & experiences
Manage regional brand ambassadors: Train, facilitate product needs, schedule events and ensure adherence to community guidelines
Work with community ambassadors to support review generation on salomon.com
Execute marketing activations with our key accounts in epicenters
Digital
Maintain local event calendar on Contentful platform on salomon.com
Support review strategy by working with community ambassador team
Support digital toolkit distribution and usage with specialty accounts to ensure the brand is best represented on specialty e‑tail platforms
Other projects to be assigned Tracking and Reporting
Manage travel expenses and local marketing budget as assigned with on‑time expense reports
Use identified tracking tools for KPIs as directed (example: Replsy, Contentful, Seasonal Playbooks)
Create and maintain a comprehensive list of all brand ambassadors / shop pros by sport and category. This should include contact information, products used and social channels
Lead, manage, and help create a return on investment model for community ambassadors
Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 1-3 years practical experience in the running industry is preferred.
B.S. or B.A. in Business, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
