This role is part of one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation. We serve men, women, inner city, rural and isolated communities across cultural backgrounds. Under the direction of the Communications and Outreach Manager, the Community Outreach and Engagement Specialist will assist in the planning, development, and execution of strategic community outreach campaigns and efforts that align with Clinica Sierra Vista’s core values. The specialist should be highly self‑motivated, proactive, and possess a solid understanding of community outreach and engagement strategies for culturally diverse and underserved populations. This role will involve community outreach, public relations, and public affairs in the communities that Clinica Sierra Vista serves.

Base pay range $68,640.00/yr - $85,987.20/yr

Essential Functions

Independently coordinate and manage both internal and external outreach and community events, including overseeing logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with vendors, creating itineraries, and ordering marketing/outreach collateral and materials.

Contribute to the brand’s social media strategy, by providing and developing relevant content. Responsible for composing drafts and scheduling social media posts to build an audience and ensure community engagement.

Participate in the coordination of photo and video shoots highlighting the organization’s efforts in employee engagement and community outreach.

Promote brand uniformity within CSV programs and services and ensure brand guidelines are always enforced for external audiences.

Maintain a directory and inventory of collateral and promotional materials, ensuring all branded assets and resources are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials as needed.

Assist in the development and maintenance of a master event calendar capturing all community outreach, employee engagement, and senior leadership engagement activities that Clinica Sierra Vista is involved in.

Utilize various project and task management systems and platforms to keep track of work deliverables.

Collaborate routinely with department leads, employees, programs, and service line staff to ensure community outreach projects are planned and fully executed.

Field concerns received from members of the public, key stakeholders, and elected officials regarding programs and services provided to patients in various communities.

Identify prospective sponsorship opportunities that amplify Clinica Sierra Vista’s brand and voice in the community; utilize technology to enhance the experience for sponsorship requesting organizations.

Comfortable being interviewed on camera and radio to successfully promote CSV programs, services, and community outreach events.

You’ll be successful with the following qualifications

BA/BS in Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences, or equivalent experience relevant to position.

A minimum of 3+ years of experience in community outreach, public relations or marketing preferred.

Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools.

Exhibit critical thinking skills, strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills.

Excellent knowledge of social media best practices and technologies. Feels comfortable interviewing and being on camera.

Must be a self‑starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Spanish speaking and writing a strong plus.

Occasional travel may be required. Valid California driver’s license with appropriate insurance; means to travel as needed in a timely manner within Kern and Fresno Counties; other travel out of the area, as necessary.
