NewsNation is looking for a hardworking, creative, and proactive senior booking producer to oversee guest bookings for a new daily program. The Senior Booking Producer works in concert with the show’s host and Executive Producer on daily bookings, long‑term strategy, and special projects. The position is based at the network’s offices in Washington, DC or New York.
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify top‑tier guests for targeted stories and book them for the show, facilitating all logistic details as needed.
Conduct pre‑interviews and in‑depth research on a range of topics.
Source and organize elements for show segments; coordinate with show producers.
Pitch stories on a daily basis with unique editorial angles suitable for the show.
Cultivate external relationships to ensure topical and quality guest bookings.
Build and maintain a calendar and guest database.
Supervise and assign other booking producers.
Help implement training and best practices for the booking team.
Provide ongoing mentoring and support to members of the booking team.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by network management.
Requirements & Skills
Ten plus years of editorial experience in a fast‑paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable, or digital).
Strong editorial judgement and research skills.
Extensive list of contacts and ability to book high‑profile guests and people at the center of major news stories.
Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics.
Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long‑term bookings.
Willingness and ability to travel on location when needed.
Flexibility with hours, as the news cycle and deadlines warrant.
Experience with LexisNexis or ENPS would be valuable.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
