General Information The Breeze is hiring its executive editor for the next academic year. The student selected for this position will be part of a three‑student leadership team that oversees an online news site, weekly broadcast show, and weekly newspaper in an organization that includes dozens of other student staff. Position begins with training in March. Must be able to be back on campus two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
Duties And Responsibilities
Uphold and maintain the organization’s goals, vision and mission.
Ensure that the organization’s values and policies are maintained and administered equitably by leadership.
Foster innovation and encourage the members to expand the reach of the organization.
Monitor the organization’s audience and find new ways to reach that audience.
Ensure collaboration and foster communication between the print, digital and broadcast divisions.
Ensure that the print/online Editor, Breeze TV News Director and Managing Editor’s administrative needs are fulfilled and can perform their journalistic duties without obstacles.
Qualifications
Ability to lead a team toward a common goal.
Writing, editing, and content management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Preference will be given to students who have worked on The Breeze staff for at least one semester.
Conditions of Employment Students must be degree‑seeking students, enrolled on at least a half‑time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
