A leading, boutique interior design studio specializing in sophisticated private residential work is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their award‑winning New York team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to beautifully crafted, detail‑rich interiors while working closely with a highly respected principal known for timeless design rooted in modern elegance. The studio is located in Manhattan and fosters a positive, respectful, and balanced work environment.
The ideal candidate is a refined designer with a strong eye for proportion, materiality, and balance – someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a thoughtful, polished approach to design execution. This is a full‑time position offering long‑term growth within a supportive, creatively driven studio that values design integrity, professionalism, and work‑life balance.
Base pay range: $110,000.00–$130,000.00 per year.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support all phases of high‑end residential interior design projects from concept to installation
Prepare full drawing sets, elevations, and construction documents using AutoCAD
Select and specify FF&E, materials, and finishes that align with the studio’s elevated, tailored aesthetic
Develop millwork and custom furniture designs, with an emphasis on quality, proportion, and function
Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and fabricators throughout the design and construction process
Conduct site surveys, prepare presentations, and participate in client meetings
Ensure the design vision is consistently translated across all aspects of a project, from initial concept to final installation
Key Skills & Requirements
A degree in Interior Design or Architecture
8+ years of professional experience, with a focus on high‑end residential interiors
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required), with the ability to independently produce detailed construction drawing sets
Experience designing custom millwork and an understanding of interior architectural detailing
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal)
Knowledge of Studio Designer or similar project management software is a plus
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, close‑knit team setting
