Description Amplify the voice and mission of Imani’s Safehouse by leading our social media strategy and external communications. This role is vital for expanding our digital reach, building an engaged online community, and consistently communicating our core theme of "The Art of Resilience." You will be responsible for helping to shape the narrative around survivor autonomy, empowerment, and healing, ensuring our messaging inspires action and deepens connection with our service users supporters and donors.

Qualifications Experience creating social media for a brand or nonprofit, or for profit company.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to expand our reach, increase engagement, and grow our follower base across key platforms.

Create, schedule, and publish daily content that powerfully communicates our mission and aligns with "The Art of Resilience" theme.

Craft compelling narratives, graphics, and copy that educate the public on our work, promote fundraising campaigns, and respectfully uplift stories of healing and empowerment.

Manage, update, and maintain all organizational social media profiles to ensure a consistent, professional, and on‑brand presence.

Monitor social channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster a supportive and inclusive online community.

Collaborate directly with the fundraising team to create and promote digital campaigns for platforms like GoFundMe and PayPal.

Track, analyze, and report on social media analytics to measure the effectiveness of content and strategies, using insights to guide future efforts.

What to Expect You will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and board members, particularly the Fundraising Chair, to ensure all communications are strategic and aligned with organizational goals. You will have the creative autonomy to shape our digital presence while being grounded in our core values of proximity and partnership with the communities we serve.

Commitment Approximately 5–8 hours per month, dedicated to content creation, scheduling, community management, and periodic virtual check‑ins with the team.

Population Served Homeless, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender), Low‑income communities, Offenders/Ex‑offenders, People with Disabilities, People with Health‑based Concerns
