Position Overview
We are looking for a
Garage Door Designer
responsible for providing customers with quotes and specifications for the installation of new garage doors, openers, and related components. The role involves daily interaction with customers, providing information and recommendations, closing sales, and ensuring profitable business decisions. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Show, promote, and sell products or services using sales strategies, product demonstrations, and sales techniques. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the sales process regarding questions related to residential garage doors, openers, and equipment. Provide accurate quotes, follow up with customers, and close sales by obtaining commitment. Ensure appropriate equipment orders are placed once the sale is closed. Measure the installation area and accurately record all materials and labor required. Provide proper paperwork (quotes, specification sheets, etc.) and ensure orders are completed timely. Follow up with customers to ensure work is completed to satisfaction; resolve issues. Interact with customer’s insurance representatives as needed. Promote the company and develop new lines of business with contractors, associations, and realtors. Stay informed of new products and understand their features and benefits. Assist the door installer if problems arise during installation. Requirements
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in garage door installation. Knowledge of selling principles and tactics, marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Skill in using logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives and solutions. Ability to take accurate measurements and estimate required materials. Excellent customer service skills and ability to assess customer needs and satisfaction. Ability to identify mechanical problems and develop solutions. Familiarity with specific brands of doors, openers, keyless entry systems, and related components. Ability to close sales deals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to follow complex instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to organize work for timely completion. Core Competencies

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by garage door experience, preferably in sales, installations, and repairs. Proven sales experience closing deals directly with customers, preferably in the garage door industry. Current valid driver’s license. Physical and Sensory Requirements
Ability to exert light physical effort, lift, carry, push, pull up to 20 pounds; tasks may involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, or standing. Requires sound, visual, depth perception, and oral communication abilities. Environmental Requirements
Tasks are performed inside and/or outside, with potential exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, pollen, fumes, wetness, humidity, temperature extremes, noise, machinery, vibrations, electrical currents, animals, toxins, chemicals, and violence. Compensation and Benefits
This is a commission-based role with an average earning potential of $80,000–$110,000 per year. Actual earnings depend on performance and a variable commission rate of 10–20% on net sales. Paid training is provided during the first 10 weeks, with a pay range of $22.00 to $25.00. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage, plus a 401(k) for eligible positions.
