Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid or Remote for the Right Candidate) Position Overview

Our client is seeking a

Mechanical Designer

to join their growing design team in the Los Angeles area. This role supports the design and development of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for a wide range of building projects. The position offers hybrid or remote flexibility for the ideal candidate, however all applicants must be local to the Los Angeles market to support project coordination and site activities as needed. Key Responsibilities

Develop HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system drawings under the direction of a Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) Assist in the preparation of technical specifications Support feasibility studies and site analysis efforts Perform gas utility load calculations Develop building pressurization plans for high-rise buildings Participate in the development of Building Management Systems (BMS), including details and Sequences of Operations, coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams Develop HVAC control systems, details, and Sequences of Operations Support construction phase services, including: RFI / RFC responses Site meetings to verify construction aligns with design intent Assist with energy modeling efforts in coordination with the design team Travel as required for client development, site visits, and project execution Qualifications

Proficiency with the following software: AutoCAD Revit BIM 360 EnergyPro Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Hydratec for Revit experience is preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality project outcomes Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred Demonstrated experience with: Heat load calculations International codes (IMC, IPC, IECC) Skills & Software Requirements

Familiarity with California Title 24 codes Understanding of electrical fundamentals HAP (Carrier) software proficiency Trane Trace 700 software proficiency Why This Opportunity
