The Technical Designer, Hard Wovens is responsible for working toward the achievement of product design in accordance with product specifications and resulting in a high-quality, marketable product by leading fit sessions, managing cross-functional and external communications, and ensuring the accurate execution of fit comments. This position works closely with the Production and Design teams on technical construction or fit issues and oversees the Associate Technical Designer. Responsibilities

Measure and evaluate samples to ensure previous comments have been executed, check construction and quality of product to ensure samples have proper construction for garment category and fabrication. Lead fit sessions on live model and dress form under Director of Technical Design's guidance with clear and accurate knowledge of history and how to execute the comments. Log in information quickly, clearly, and accurately to rely on vendors so they understand the issue. Maintain the block library per style after approvals have been sent. Manage clear daily communication with all necessary cross-functional teams and overseas vendors. Create/establish specs based on existing body blocks to uphold their aesthetic for fit and silhouette; including measurements, and construction details. Create easily understandable comments using written and visual methods. Work closely with cross-functioning teams to ensure all information is correct. Escalate issues to superiors for input and direction. Maintain professional and timely email correspondence with domestic and global vendors. Identify potential product, quality, and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations. Track and manage workflow and workload for own product. Maintain fit consistency for product area. Ensure standard grade values are applied to each garment. Ensure Product Lifecycle Calendar dates are met for Development and Garment Fit Approvals. Manages workload for hard wovens category. Flexibility to work at different office locations during hybrid workdays. Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, & Education

Minimum 5+ years of fashion-related technical design experience. Advanced knowledge of POMs and how to accurately spec garments. Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form. Detail oriented with strong follow up skills; organize and prioritize multiple projects. Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to react to change. Ability to think creatively while assessing scientific problem solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Must be computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, Photoshop, Illustrator) Proficient in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Acrobat Overseas factory travel experience is a plus. Knowledge and ability to lead fittings and make decisions independently. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize appropriately, cope with change, and maintain composure under pressure. Accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively, and looks for ways to resolve problems and deliver results. Capable of providing constructive, honest, and direct feedback. Physical and Mental Requirements

Standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner. Ability to easily move throughout an office with ease. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to effectively interact with others internally and externally. Ability to utilize office equipment in a safe and prudent manner, including a copy machine, fax machine, computer, telephone, and other general office equipment that may be used regularly.
