Role Overview The Assistant Technical Designer, Hard Wovens provides essential support to the Technical Design team for hard wovens. This role focuses on sample preparation, measurement, fit documentation, and updating technical information. It’s an entry‑level position ideal for someone who wants to build foundational technical design skills and gain exposure to a full range of apparel types.

Measure all incoming TOP samples accurately and compare to approved spec sheet.

Prep samples for fittings: steaming, tagging, organizing by category and priority.

Maintain sample racks, fit archives, and daily sample tracking.

Attend fittings and support the TDs with note‑taking across all categories.

Update fit comments and measurement revisions under supervision of Associate/Senior TDs for certain style.

Upload fit photos, vendor comments, and pattern changes into the main drive to share.

Assist with updating and maintaining tech packs including specs, BOMs, and simple construction details.

Learn construction fundamentals across different fabric types and silhouettes.

Gather samples for shipping to overseas vendors for reference, keep clear record of all tracking information.

Help coordinate sample status with overseas vendors and maintain accurate records in PLM and samples status chart.

Support the Technical Design team during busy seasons such as SMS, market, and production handoff with note taking and sample organizing.

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, & Education

0–2 years of experience in Technical Design.

Strong understanding of basic garment construction and apparel terminology.

Ability to measure garments precisely with excellent attention to detail.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel; experience with PLM systems is a plus.

Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

A team‑oriented attitude and strong work ethic.

Reliability and a willingness to support wherever needed.

Curiosity and eagerness to build foundational Technical Design skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Standing and sitting for extended periods of time.

Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner.

Ability to easily move throughout an office with ease.

Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Ability to effectively interact with others internally and externally.

Ability to utilize office equipment in a safe and prudent manner, including a copy machine, fax machine, computer, telephone, and other general office equipment that may be used regularly.

Ability to kneel, crouch, bend, push, pull, stoop, and lift above shoulders.

Ability to work with many different personalities.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Correctable vision and hearing.

Ability to work on‑site as needed.
