Communication Strategist (Water Business Group) At HDR, we are committed to influencing water management for generations to come by delivering safe drinking water, treating wastewater responsibly, and developing sustainable water supplies. The Communication Strategist will shape how our Water Business Group shares its expertise and drives public health and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

Develop content marketing strategies and communication plans for specific initiatives and projects to elevate thought leadership and project work.

Lead global and local communication strategies by collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing, and communications teams.

Assist in the development and management of an editorial calendar.

Work with subject matter experts to develop, write, and edit white papers, feature articles, thought leadership articles, and social media posts.

Ghost‑write and edit blogs, social posts, papers, and presentations for subject matter experts.

Help develop collateral pieces and other marketing campaign materials.

Research, write, and edit project narratives and case studies.

Monitor industry best practices and maintain a repository of trends and examples.

Support event management when required.

Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a closely related field.

Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a communications field – social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self‑motivated and able to work independently with multiple teams.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive outlook.

High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.

Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.

Comfortable working with senior leaders and managing cross‑functional efforts.

Demonstrated ability to operate strategically and tactically in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.

Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits & Compensation The expected compensation range is $48,699 – $92,760 depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
