Senior Product Designer, Client-Facing
role at
PhysicsX
PhysicsX is a deep-tech company with roots in numerical physics and Formula One, dedicated to accelerating hardware innovation at the speed of software. We are building an AI‑driven simulation software stack for engineering and manufacturing across advanced industries. By enabling high‑fidelity, multi‑physics simulation through AI inference across the entire engineering lifecycle, PhysicsX unlocks new levels of optimization and automation in design, manufacturing, and operations.
This role requires US citizenship and the ability to travel frequently within the United States and occasionally to the United Kingdom. In this role you’ll work closely with customers across industries, travelling regularly to their sites to lead discovery sessions, support our delivery teams, and ensure excellence from concept through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead customer delivery engagements: Partner directly with enterprise clients to translate business and technical needs into actionable design solutions that deliver measurable value.
Conduct discovery and research: Plan and lead workshops, interviews, and contextual research to deeply understand user workflows and align stakeholders around shared goals.
Design for delivery: Create pragmatic artefacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and specifications that accelerate implementation and maintain clarity through technical delivery.
Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with Delivery Leads, Data Scientists, and Simulation Engineers to ensure designs balance innovation with feasibility.
Support business development: Contribute to proposals, early‑stage discovery, and pre‑sales activities, helping identify opportunities where design can create commercial advantage.
Develop scalable systems: Build and maintain design systems and component libraries that enable consistency and efficiency across complex enterprise solutions.
Champion user‑centred delivery: Balance usability, performance, and commercial priorities, maintaining focus on solutions that serve both users and clients effectively.
Mentor and elevate others: Provide design direction and support for junior designers in client contexts, helping raise the overall standard of delivery.
Qualifications
5+ years delivering end‑to‑end design work within consultancy, agency, or enterprise contexts, with a proven record of direct client collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
Strong portfolio of complex, data‑rich, or AI‑driven product design with tangible business and user outcomes.
Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and research platforms such as Dovetail.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike.
Bonus: Experience designing for engineering or simulation environments, or familiarity with 3D tools such as Blender, Houdini, or Unity3D.
US citizenship required; must be able to travel regularly for client delivery and collaboration.
We value diversity and are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply. To help make a change, we sponsor bright women from disadvantaged backgrounds through their university degrees in science and mathematics.
