Senior Footwear Product Designer
Our client is seeking a seasoned footwear design leader who brings creative agility, strategic thinking, and calm ownership to complex product initiatives. This individual blends deep industrial design expertise with strong communication and project leadership, guiding products from early concept through execution while partnering seamlessly across teams. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional environments and balances innovation, craft, and commercial awareness with confidence and independence.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Responsibilities
Define and drive design direction for a footwear collection or product category, aligned to creative vision and seasonal briefs.
Lead the end-to-end footwear design process, translating insights and innovation into compelling, manufacturable product solutions.
Communicate and present design concepts clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment and momentum.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners including development, innovation, merchandising, and manufacturing teams.
Provide informal mentorship and creative guidance, contributing to a high standard of design excellence across the team.
Qualifications
10+ years of professional footwear design experience within a large, corporate product environment.
Expert‑level industrial design skills specific to footwear, including materials innovation and product creation processes.
Proven ability to manage complex projects independently, prioritizing effectively without the need for close supervision.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences and leadership levels.
Strong digital design fluency, including industry‑standard creative tools; 3D or advanced digital skills are a plus.
Compensation Up to $65/hr. (DOE)
