Job Description
Reason to Fill - Coverage for an employee on family leave
Location - Nike WHQ (PHK) - Serena Williams Building - Traditional hybrid model with Fridays remote
Org/ Team info - Olympics Footwear Design
Education - Years of experience - 10+ years preferred, degree not required
Non‑Negotiables - Top 3 Skills
Design - Industrial Design in the footwear industry at an expert level with experience in working with innovation and materials design
Communication - strong communication skills that can work across multiple cross‑functional partners, and keep leaders and working teams well‑informed on project progress
Project Management - self‑starter that doesn’t need hand‑holding, knows general Footwear design and product creation processes and can navigate complexity independently
Previous Nike experience is not required but NEEDS to come from a similar corporate footwear design experience (ex: Adidas, New Balance, etc)
Responsibilities
Purpose
Expert Product Designer
Creative agility
Entry into creative design leadership
Deliver product vision & execute seasonal projects, aligned to creative direction & project briefs
Accountabilities
Create/set design direction for silo or product collection within a dimension
Active and proficient participant in the creative process and cross‑functional communication
Communicate and present design concepts to internal and external audiences. Clearly communicate changes to ensure timely completion of projects
Collaborate and communicate cross‑functionally with key partners
May provide mentorship across design
Requirements
Education:
Associate Degree preferred
Experience:
Preferred design experience: 8+ years
Creative experience (consumer/segment/dimensions)
Knowledge of creative culture
Functional Skills:
Digital design acumen (design‑based software needed: Creative Suite)
Preferred knowledge and experience with advanced digital tools/3D skills
Master of make and manufacturing
Master presentation & communication skills
Master design skills, brief to presentation to manufacturing
Master creative process
Master business context
Master understanding of insights
