Position Title:
Editorial Designer (Publishing Department)
Location:
Phoenix, AZ, in office
The KNOW Women is a global media company that exists to amplify the voices of businesswomen through our publications and community. The Editorial Designer is responsible for the visual presentation and textual quality of digital and print content, blending writing, editing, and graphic design skills to produce compelling materials that align with brand identity and strategic goals. This is not a social media manager or strategy role.
Key Responsibilities
Design layouts, graphics, logos, and visual assets for various platforms (web, social, print).
Review and refine written content for clarity, grammar, style, and accuracy; fact‑check information.
Select imagery, typography, and design elements to enhance narratives and user engagement.
Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a unified visual style.
Prepare files for print or digital publishing, manage assets, and oversee final output.
Work closely with writers, marketing, and other stakeholders to develop cohesive campaigns.
Manage editorial calendars, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
Experience Requirements
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro/After Effects).
Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding.
Excellent grammar, storytelling, and attention to detail.
Familiarity with CMS platforms and potentially video editing tools.
Bachelor's degree in Design, Communications, Journalism, or related field often preferred.
Creativity, time management, communication, critical thinking, adaptability.
Experience working for a print magazine is a bonus.
Experience in fashion, high‑end editorial, or with luxury brands is a double bonus.
