We collaborate with some of the world’s largest data center providers and need experienced Data Center Design Project Managers to join our American Places group. This role can be based anywhere in the USA and requires up to 30% domestic travel related to site and client location work.
Role Accountabilities
Facilitate client requirements for the design of hyperscale data centers throughout the United States.
Manage the design process from campus planning/basis of design through issuance of construction drawings, create a shared plan for design execution, and oversee construction administration services provided by the external design team.
Coordinate procurement, issue and administer change orders related to design and project scope, and issue engineering information to related vendors and suppliers.
Build strong positive relationships with internal and external teams to ensure project progression meets required milestones and deadlines.
Travel to project sites and client meetings as needed, with travel anticipated up to 30% of the schedule.
Ensure project deliverables meet milestones, deadlines, and are presented in the format required by the final client.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of project design experience with data center designs, or large complex construction projects such as hospitals, high‑rises, laboratories, manufacturing plants, or high‑power plants.
Experience working with internal and external multidisciplinary teams and directly with final client teams.
Experience preparing project plans, technical specifications, implementation plans and schedules, and coordinating internal and external teams.
Experience with Autodesk platforms: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modelling (BIM) engineered solutions.
BA in Architecture or Engineering, or related field; preferred licensure (PE, NCARB, RA).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects with evolving priorities in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.
Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $80,461 – $132,761. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement. Nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO accrue per year.
