Summary of the Position
The Audio Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional sound quality across all BRAVE Church environments, including live events, worship services, broadcast productions, and post‑production projects. Serving as the lead authority on audio production, this role ensures excellence in every aspect of sound design, mixing, and technical execution. Experience and Knowledge Required
3 years of experience with technical equipment, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting required. Formal training or technical degree with certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4 years of worship and spoken word) preferred. Comprehensive expertise in audio production across live sound broadcast environments and post‑production workflows. Advanced proficiency with analog and digital mixing consoles with demonstrated ability to manage complex audio setups in diverse venues and event formats. Strong command of multi‑channel audio mixing for live and broadcast applications including precise adjustments to musicality, tonality, dynamics and overall sound balance. Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and optimize frequency, harmonic and signal‑flow issues in high‑pressure real‑time environments. Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools and platforms including: Live analog and digital consoles Audinate Dante audio networking systems Waves SoundGrid solutions Pro Tools and other leading digital audio workstations (DAWs) Demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines. Humble, trustworthy, flexible, meticulous and hard‑working. Excellent administrative, managerial, organizational and leadership skills with exceptional interpersonal competencies. Multi‑site church production experience. Key Responsibilities
Lead Audio Production: Serve as the primary audio engineer for all live events, worship services, broadcasts, and campus gatherings. Ensure consistent high‑quality sound across all environments. Technical Oversight: Procure, install, configure and maintain audio equipment and systems; oversee system integration projects including design, installation and implementation; perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to guarantee optimal performance. Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train and mentor staff and volunteers in audio production; provide ongoing coaching to build technical skills and foster a collaborative team culture. Mixing and Production: Mix audio for post‑production projects including videos, tracks, rebroadcasts and digital content; engineer sound for special events such as conferences, trainings and memorial services. Event Support: Collaborate in the creative planning, design and execution of major events; manage setup and breakdown of audio systems, including cables, patches, line checks and troubleshooting during live production.
