New Ridge Fellowship Audio Engineer Gilbertsville, PA·Part time The Audio Engineer is responsible for supporting Technical Director and Pastor of Worship in all aspects of the church’s audio production, ensuring consistent & targeted sound quality during worship services, rehearsals, and special events. This role includes the setup, operation, and maintenance of sound equipment for the worship team, special services, and church productions. The Audio Engineer will work closely with the worship team, volunteers, and other technical arts staff to create an excellent audio experience for New Ridge Productions.

New Ridge Fellowship also operates a preschool and after school care under the name, Creative Moments. They exist to help every student reach their God‑given potential. They utilize learning, play, and social interaction. Classes and before/after care ensure that every child in our program ages 3 through 5th grade receives the attention and enrichment they need to grow toward this goal.

Description Essential Functions

Work with Technical Director for Production Prep on a weekly basis.

Support set‑up and operate audio equipment as assigned during Sunday services & rehearsals, prayer service, youth events, and special events (e.g., baptisms, weddings, guest speakers).

Monitor and adjust audio levels throughout services to ensure sound clarity and consistency.

Attend and support weekly rehearsals (typically Thursday evenings).

Monitor and record rehearsals for pre‑mixing, sound checks, and pre‑service sessions/scenes mix refinements.

Support with repair and troubleshooting of sound equipment as needed.

Regularly inspect and clean all audio equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance.

Train and manage audio volunteers to assist during services, ensuring they are equipped to help with setup, operation, and teardown.

Work with all members of the tech team to build ministry production culture centered around core values of New Ridge Fellowship.

Provide input on sound‑related aspects of worship services and productions, such as acoustics, microphone placement, and mix.

Help plan and execute audio needs for special church events (e.g., conferences, retreats, and performances).

Requirements

A committed Christian who embodies New Ridge Fellowship’s vision and values.

Proven experience in sound engineering and operating audio equipment, ideally in a worship or church setting.

Familiarity and knowledge with consoles and digital audio workstations, as well as mixing techniques for live and broadcast production.

Familiarity with supporting various music production and microphone/instrument techniques and set‑up.

Ability to troubleshoot and maintain sound systems.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with volunteers and staff.

Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus during live services.

Availability for Thursday evening rehearsals and additional hours for special events (Easter, Christmas, etc.).

Servant‑hearted – willing to work behind the scenes for the sake of the team.

Flexible & adaptable – can pivot when things change (which happens often in church life).
