HDR . As a member of the Water Business Group, you will help shape how communities manage water for generations to come, supporting public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Overview We believe water is more than a resource; it is a shared responsibility. You will lead communication initiatives that elevate thought leadership, improve engagement, and support sustainable water solutions across local and global markets.

Responsibilities

Develop content marketing strategies and communication plans for initiatives and projects.

Lead global and local communication strategies by collaborating with internal partners, creative, marketing, and communication teams.

Assist in creating and managing an editorial calendar.

Work with subject matter experts to develop white papers, feature articles, thought‑leadership pieces, and social media content.

Ghost‑write and edit blogs, posts, papers, or presentations authored by subject matter experts.

Help develop collateral and other marketing campaign materials.

Research, write, and edit project narratives and case studies.

Monitor industry best practices and maintain a repository of trends and examples.

Support event management as required.

Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a closely related field.

Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and a positive outlook.

High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.

Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.

Comfortable working with senior leaders and managing cross‑functional efforts.

Demonstrated ability to operate strategically and tactically in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits & Compensation Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off, parental leave, retirement savings with employer match, and tuition reimbursement. Expected compensation range: $48,699 - $92,760, depending on skills, experience, education, and location.

Location Primary location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States.
