Sr. Technical Designer - Dresses
Position Overview: We are a leading apparel company that sells high quality products in multiple categories with a primary focus on women’s and men’s clothing. The Technical Designer will be involved in all aspects of technical design and should have the proven ability to create production specific technical packages in Excel format.
Responsibilities
Responsible for creating accurate detailed technical packages with construction, specs, fit comments that meet brand requirements. Create consistency between factories regarding fit and make.
Strong pattern making skills and confident providing accurate fit direction with specific pattern corrections to factories.
Proficient in garment construction, sewing, factory processes, especially suited for high end and mid-tier markets.
Participate in fit sessions with live models. Proactively identify and communicate fit issues and provide solutions.
Work with fit corrections / construction.
Requirements & Qualifications
Has experience with dresses for better markets - Saks, Bloomingdales, Neiman, Macy's, etc.
Patternmaking experience is a big plus.
Problem Solver who can conduct fittings, manage their own workload and work effectively, while maintaining composure under pressure.
Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills while working on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Detail-oriented and possess organizational skills; ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy. Able to work independently with little direction and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and computer skills. Excel is a must, Outlook, Word, Illustrator.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
