Position Overview The Technical Writer, Supervisory (TECW) supports the creation, refinement, and management of technical documentation for HM&E cybersecurity systems and related Navy programs. Responsibilities include developing, editing, and quality‑assuring manuals, diagrams, procedures, and other artifacts. The role ensures compliance with Navy and U.S. Coast Guard standards, collaborates with engineering teams, and contributes to test plan and program review materials while meeting security, quality, and accessibility requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Minimum 3 years of professional technical writing and editing experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience editing technical documentation for the U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard.
CSWF Certification (IAT Level I) required.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) – preferred.
Strong command of Navy/USCG documentation standards, formats, and review processes.
Ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, accurate, user‑friendly documents.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to gather, validate, and structure technical information.
Proficiency with office productivity tools and configuration management/document repositories such as SharePoint.
Capability to produce high‑quality deliverables including manuals, diagrams, test plans, test reports, and SOPs.
Excellent organizational, communication, and document version control skills.
Ability to work effectively remotely in cross‑functional teams and to meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
Clearance Requirements U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Work Location United States – Remote (office or client site availability optional).
Compensation Salary up to $66,539 per year, determined by experience and other factors.
